Battery Cables

The question area for people who have rigs that they daily drive, warranties still intact or just those who don't want to beat and abuse their vehicles. Also a good spot for those FL-only rigs who don't see the rocks.

Battery Cables

So I have a power issue that Ive narrowed down to being a bad battery cable, not sure if positive or negative so I pulled both out. Anyone replaced theirs before with something other than OEM? What did you do to by pass the stock cables and those plastic/rubber molds that all the lines run into?

Well I went to CF Jeep and they actually were quite helpful. A complete new cable set-up was $100 bucks from them but the sales guy actually said to me "...but I don't want you to spend that much money if its not needed." Needless be, he called in a service guy who looked at it and immediately new my problem. I had some arcing going on from a bad connection to the post. Although I checked it and my cables were tight he showed my a bunch of pitting on it and those pits had corrosion on them when then allowed corrosion to actually form on the inside of the battery cable. End all I just had to strip down then cables til I found clean wire and put on some new connectors. Started right up and hopefully she runs for a while.
